A very big thank you to everyone who came to our launch event on 23 January at The Grasshopper in Poole. We were thrilled to see so many of you there, and loved your enthusiasm for what we want to achieve with Scaplen's Community Players. Even the awful weather could not dampen your commitment!
Following hot on the heels of our launch event, on 30 January we had the first readthrough of our next production "Unbroken Bonds - A Woman's War". Set against the backdrop of a war-torn country, this play explores the lives of ordinary people who lived in the area during World War 2. Recounting real stories of people who lived locally at the time, the play explores the impact this period of great upheaval and change had, and asks what was the human cost of the conflict?
This is a fabulous play written by our very own Katy Nutt and to be directed by Robert Rankin. There are parts for people of all ages and abilities, and if you are interested in getting involved then please come along to our 'group work and improvisation' evening at The Grasshopper on 6 February (7:30pm start), or to the auditions the following week (13 February, also 7:30pm start).
It will be great to see as many of you audition as possible. If you have any questions, please head to our Contact Us page.
